Who we are

Dustin is a Master Carpenter with 10 years of experience. Making the decision to start his own business in 2023, when he realized he could offer a more personal experience to custom home building with a carpenters perspective. Dustin grew up in Sister Bay, Wisconsin in the heart of Door County. His family owned and operated the Hillside Inn in Ellison Bay and his father was one of Door County’s finest painters. Starting to work at the family business at a young age he quickly learned the value of taking pride in your work and the importance of community. At the age of 23 Dustin started apprenticing under a carpenter with over 20 years of experience, for 7 years. When he decided to establish his own business in 2023, he wanted to provide families with the attention to detail and care he felt building a home requires. Dustin’s favorite thing about carpentry is being involved in every detail start to finish. His goal for Dustin Johnson Builders is to create a personal experience building custom homes for clients using a carpenters vast knowledge and skill set.
